Global Warming is Nonsense

The notion that global warming is caused by carbon dioxide emissions is rubbish. The fallacy gives the elite, including politicians, more power over the lives of others.

The sun’s 11-year cycles indicate the possibility that unusually cold weather approaches. That’ll be an unpleasant surprise.

The elite say that warming has been especially rapid of late. But they placed many of their temperature stations in or near cities, which are hotter than rural areas. As cities have become more populated, surprise, surprise, temperatures appear to have rapidly increased. The fraudulence instills fear and enables the elite to gain all the more power.

Natural gas emits little CO2, and nuclear power emits none. The elite needed only to enable the production of natural gas to increase and also cut the cost of nuclear power by removing the excessive regulations that have nothing to do with nuclear risks. But doing so little didn’t satisfy the elite. They prefer to tell people how to conduct their lives.

The most important influence on world temperature is the sun. In a single hour, the sun transmits as much energy to the earth as humans use in an entire year.

I repeat: In a single hour, the sun transmits as much energy to the earth as humans use in a year.

The earth has been warming and the ocean rising since the end of the last ice age, some 12,000 years ago. Measurements of the ocean level at lower Manhattan from 1860 to the present show the ocean rising at a steady 0.94 feet per century. Here’s the URL:  https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/sltrends/sltrends_station.shtml?id=8518750

Energy from the sun increases when there are numerous sunspots and solar flares and decreases when there are few. The 11-year cycles are regular enough to be predictive. Scientists use radiocarbon to identify periods of high solar flaring in earlier times.

The earth was warm during the Roman Empire and cold during the dark ages.

During the Medieval Maximum from 1100 to 1250 AD, numerous solar flares occurred and the temperature was warmer than it is now.

Ponder that again: During the Medieval Maximum, the earth’s temperature was warmer than it is now.

The renowned “hockey stick” graph of a global-warming “expert,” Michael Mann, simply omitted the Medieval Maximum and subsequent cold periods. His graph showed world temperatures remaining flat until about 1850 and then roaring upward, making the current warming seem like an anomaly. It was one of many CO2 deceits.

In the last 3,000 years, periods of minimum solar flares and low temperatures have been numerous. Some are named for the scientists who discovered them:

Homeric Minimum 750-550 BC

Oort Minimum 1040-1080

Wolf Minimum 1280-1350

Sporer Minimum 1450-1550

    Maunder Minimum 1645-1715

    Dalton Minimum 1790-1820

(No name I’m aware of) 1880-1915

    Modern Minimum 1940-1977

During the Maunder Minimum from 1645 to 1715, the world was exceptionally cold.

Whenever there’s evidence of warming, such as from 1977 to the present, or whenever people living along the coast get their feet wet, the elite trumpet that CO2 emissions were the cause. Not so. The warming since 1977 has occurred because the sun got hotter.

The sun is a massive, complex, continually exploding hydrogen bomb. Some of its cycles are longer than the 11-year cycles. Longer maximum periods may have shorter minimum periods within them.

Valentina Zharkova, of Northumbria University, UK, writes that a period of low solar activity began in 2020. She expects this to last until about 2053. Average terrestrial temperatures will probably fall by about 1.0 degree Celsius, especially from 2031 to 2043. This decline, similar to what occurred during the Maunder Minimum, is likely to suppress agriculture and cause hardship and starvation worldwide. Would that global warming prevailed instead.

Here’s the Zharkova article: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/23328940.2020.1796243

For a more general discussion of solar cycles, see the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_cycle

The next big temperature change seems likely to be down. Global warming from carbon dioxide emissions is specious nonsense.

Political Professionalism at Work

This is my last column for a while. I need the time to help sell my book, America’s Bankruptcy Approaches; How to Resolve the Issue and Prevent It from Reoccurring, which will be released in September 2021.

Political Professionalism at Work

July 19, 2021. An AIER article by James Bovard reveals that, shortly after the November 2016 election, when Trump planned to nominate Sonny Perdue as Secretary of Agriculture, Archer-Daniels Midland (ADM), a large producer of ethanol, sold Sonny a plant it had previously been trying to sell for $4 million. Sonny’s price? $250,000. He sold the plant for a substantial profit.

ADM originally sold the plant to Sonny Purdue simply because they liked him, right?

Yeah sure.

Hundreds of millions of gallons of ethanol were subsequently added to the U.S. gas supply. The biofuels industry also received $100 million of government subsidies. Those benefits had nothing to do with Sonny’s gift. Just coincidences, right?

Coincidences hell! They were legalized corruption.

Ethanol is a wretched product. More energy is required to produce it (tractor fuel, grain transportation, etc.) than it generates as a fuel. Gallon for gallon, ethanol generates only two-thirds as much energy as gasoline. It also damages automobile engines. Legislators subsidize it anyway to attract campaign gifts and votes from Iowa farmers.

A University of Connecticut report concluded that “For every dollar invested in contributions to political action committees, farm groups obtained on average approximately $2,132 in policy transfers” (meaning subsidies). Small campaign gifts. Big returns.

Wanting to remain in office for decades, legislators shower people with government goodies, looking for gifts and votes. Doing what’s right matters little.

Political professionalism causes pervasive government corruption. To reduce it, House and Senate members should be limited to just one term each, with much reduced pay.

Why would this work?

It’s in the book.

Crime Will (Probably) Taper Off

June 21, 2021. The current rash of crime probably won’t last.

From 1960 to the 1980s, the increase in crime was indeed long-lasting. The baby boomers reached their crime-prone years. The criminal justice system was weak, and crack cocaine entered the scene.

Now, seniors, who are the least likely to break the law, are the fastest-growing segment of the American population, promising a reduction of crime.

Liberal policies are increasing crime. They’re allowing rioting to go unchecked. They’re treating criminals as victims and the police as criminals. They’re letting people who have repeatedly committed violence out on bail prior to their trial dates. They’re allowing thousands of immigrants, including criminals, to surge across America’s borders.

These damaging policies are likely to be reversed when conservatives return to power, probably in 2022 and certainly in 2024.

There’s another crime issue not easily solved. Children learn how to handle stress only if they have a full-time parent, especially the mothers, during the first three years of their lives. Too many moms can’t wait to plop their kids, even those under one, in day-care centers and return to work. Too many dads have left their families. The result: a decline in mental health and an increase in crime.

People would be more likely to deal with these issues if government became smaller and less intrusive. Government would be more helpful if it stopped trying to be so helpful.

Predictions

The forensic audit going on in Maricopa County, AZ (the Phoenix area) will be completed in a few weeks. It will reveal without doubt that Trump beat Biden in Arizona.

Members of the state senates of Pennsylvania and Georgia are visiting Arizona to learn how to do the audits. Within about a year, the states that swung the election to Biden will show the same thing. Before November of 2022, I expect Joe Biden will be required to leave the White House, and Donald Trump will be reinstated as president and probably be reelected in 2024. I hope he makes Ron DeSantis his Vice President.

The Arizona audit will show that Martha McSally won her Senate seat. She will take her proper seat, and Mark Kelly will be required to leave.

An audit in Georgia will show that David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler won their U.S. Senate seats. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff will be required to leave.

I hope Michigan does a forensic audit. If it does, John James will prove to have won a Senate seat. All this will give Republicans a clear Senate majority.

In November 2022, the Republicans will gain a clear majority in the House. The devastating laws now being considered in Congress can then be reversed.

During Barack Obama’s Administrations, ardent left-wingers were placed in senior positions throughout the federal government. The crucial departments are Justice, the FBI, and the CIA. Mr. Trump, who is much more of a softie than most people believe, did not attend in his first term to cleaning them out. He must do it now.

The senior positions in the Defense Department must also be changed, to get rid of their ridiculous “woke” policies. China is our enemy, not American whites.

I care not about Trump’s narcissism or his manners, but I care deeply about his policies. I love his cancellation of Obama regulations that were throttling U.S. production. I love his reduction of corporate tax rates and hope he cuts personal tax rates.

Mr. Trump’s belief that trade deficits are bad and his tariffs to correct the deficits are both grave errors. America has incurred trade deficits throughout much of its history and thrived anyway. Besides, in transaction that do not involve tangible goods, like banking, insurance, and brokerage, America has huge surpluses.

I would prefer Ron DeSantis as president. But no one can fire up a crowd like Donald Trump. For all of his problems, he benefits America far more than the horrific socialists.

Kennesaw's Gun Law

June 1, 2021. In 1982, Kennesaw, GA, a town of 5,000 people near Atlanta, passed an ordinance requiring every household to maintain a firearm, together with appropriate ammunition. Exempt from the law were heads of households with a physical or mental disability, paupers, felons, or those who were conscientiously opposed to firearms. The law was a political statement and was not intended to be enforced.

It brought a wave of violent crime, right?

Well, actually, no, it didn’t.

In 1981, the year before the ordinance was adopted, Kennesaw recorded 55 house burglaries. The next year there were 25. In 1985, only 11.

In 2001, Kennesaw’s violent crime rate was about 60% below national and state rates. Property crime rates were significantly below national and state rates.

The town did experience a wave of new people. By 2018, the town had grown from 5,000 to 33,000 people. In the six years prior to 2018, it had had one murder and a violent crime rate below 2%.

The more guns, the less crime.

After I mentioned this generality to a friend, he responded that it doesn’t seem to fit with the rioting and violence we’re witnessing in some U.S. cities today.

Yes it does. If most people are armed, some hidden and some not, perpetrators don’t know who is armed and who isn’t and are less likely to do harm.

If rioters enter stores, pick up items, and endeavor to leave without paying, but armed employees of the stores shoot the thieves on the way out and are considered blameless for doing so, the rioting is unlikely to last long.

For over 50 years, from 1776 to the 1830s, the United States had no police departments. It was only in the 1880s that all major cities had police. Until then, armed citizens did the policing.

When guns are controlled, the bad guys obtain guns anyway. But the laws prevent the good guys from owning guns. Crime therefore proliferates. Such is the case in Great Britain today. It has very strict gun laws and lots of crime.

But when everyone is authorized to carry guns, hidden or not, the good guys outnumber the bad guys, and crime is reduced.

Inflation is On the Way

May 25, 2021. The U.S. money supply has increased – boy, has it ever! Over the past year, the broad measure of the money supply, M2, grew by 24.6%. Significant inflation is sure to follow.

During the last surge of inflation, in 1978, M2 grew only half as fast – 12%. The next year, 1979, inflation reached 13.4%. Two years after that, the rate on the bellwether 10-year Treasury Bonds soared to 15%.

With the money supply growing twice as fast this time around, the consequences could be worse. Inflation could be higher than 13.4%, and the interest rate on 10-year Treasuries, currently 1.6%, could reach higher than 15%. This would be quite a shock, would it not?

Americans are loaded with buying power. The enormous amounts of stimulus money the government continues to pass out will unleash a torrent of spending.

It’s not as though Mr. Biden is beefing up production to match the growth of money and reduce the inflation potential. No, he’s trying to suppress production. He’s re-imposing some of the regulations that throttled industry during the Obama Administration (and were reversed by Donald Trump). Biden is trying to reduce the use of oil and gas and substitute solar and wind energy, which won’t make a dent in world temperature, but are less reliable, less efficient, and more expensive. He’s paying out so much welfare that some workers are better off not returning to work. He wants to raise tax rates, slowing the economy all the more. Way to go, Joe. You’re making things worse across the board.

If interest rates rise far enough and stay high long enough, the interest cost on the national debt would become such a burden that the federal government would have no alternative but to default on at least some of its debt. Treasury securities are owned throughout the economy by banks, insurance companies, financial companies, corporations, foreign governments, not to mention, individual Americans. Some of those billions of securities wouldn’t be paid.

Treasury securities are supposed to be riskless, right? Surprise, surprise!

Facemasks Do More Harm than Good

Regular, everyday facemasks do more harm than good.

Respiratory viruses get into your body by riding on streams of air. The viruses are much smaller than bacteria and can easily slip through the holes in cloth or plastic facemasks.

But most people don’t breath through the facemasks. The air comes in from around the edges of the masks, carrying viruses with it.

Here’s a test: With your facemask on, press two fingers of one hand on the top and bottom of your mouth. With the other hand, press a finger on whichever side of the mouth not covered by the other two fingers. Press all three fingers so that you are unable to obtain air except through the mask. Observe that the mask actually moves in and out as you breathe.

Doesn’t this procedure make it more difficult to breath than normal? I bet it does.

Does your mask normally move in and out as you breathe? I bet it does not.

If the above test doesn’t feel like your regular facemask breathing, this means your breath does not normally come in through the mask. It comes in from around the mask, carrying those pesky viruses.

Many facemasks contain a wire that causes the mask to make a sharp turn around the nose. Good try, but this isn’t nearly sufficient to prevent the air from coming in from above the top of the mask.

No good comes from the facemask.

Also, some viruses that came from the sides of the masks adhere to the inside of it, accumulating there, providing an additional source of virus infection.

Even with no viruses present, the air you’re breathing from inside the mask is as unhealthy as the air in a room that’s poorly ventilated.

Overall, facemasks serve no good, but they do cause harm. Government requirements that you wear them are cockeyed.
