U.S.
governments should no longer try to influence the economy. The spectrum would
be sold. So would public roads, transportation facilities, and any land the
governments do not occupy. They would stop operating schools, financing education,
and providing income for those not retired.
Governments
should have nothing to do with healthcare. Citizens would acquire catastrophic
insurance policies with large deductibles. People would thereby become aware of
costs, causing prices to plummet. After the deductible is paid, the insurance
company would cover subsequent healthcare costs.
Corporations
or associations would handle necessary regulations, including drug safety.
Faulty products would also be subject to lawsuits.
Zoning
would be repealed. Factories would not be built near residences, because manufacturers
prefer cheap land, not expensive residential land.
With
the governments much reduced and free markets prevailing, the economy would
become less volatile, and costs would fall. People or corporations, motivated
by profit, would satisfy social and economic needs better than government.
With
governments no longer providing aid, people would learn to take responsibility
for themselves, for others, and for the environment.
Sharply
limiting U.S. governments would raise morale, increase self-reliance and caring,
and improve the quality of life across the land, especially for the poor.
