In the recent election, Republicans loved Trump. Democrats hated Trump. They have not condoned street violence. Their behavior has become bizarre.
Uncomfortable when conservatives express their views, Democrats simply endeavor to silence them, especially in universities, sometimes with violence.
Democrats have become a party of hate. Political parties based on hate cannot succeed in America.
Liberalism is dying.
In the traditions of Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and Lyndon Johnson, liberals have tried to solve social and economy problems with increasing government force. But force causes long-term problems that outweigh the benefits. As black economist Thomas Sowell put it, "Today's problems are the result of yesterday's solutions."
Liberals are deeply committed to their solutions. Yet the problems have worsened, making liberalism a source of frustration. The movement seems to have attracted people who have their own personal frustrations. Generally, liberals are unhappier than conservatives, not to mention, less charitable.
Liberals do not like the Constitution, because it limits their power. They consider America to be immoral and feel justified in cheating to attain political power. They intend, mistakenly, to batten down society with even more force.
I expect Mr. Trump to win the election. But even if he doesn’t, enough conservatives have been elected throughout the nation to prevent liberals from going for broke.
Liberal violence and hatefulness are a last gasp. Liberalism is dying.
